Overview

Fiddes Exterior Wood Protector is a solvent-based water repellant sealer, ideal for exterior smooth and rough sawn timber including sheds, fences, and trellis. Formulated to maintain, protect and prevent the growth of algae whilst offering high resistance to water penetration. Available in clear and coloured finishes to protect against UV and resist fading. This product is not suitable for areas of high usage or heavy footfall.

Preparation

Always ensure the surface to be treated is clean, dry and free from dust dirt and debris.

• Remove any fungal growth, dirt or moss with a stiff brush and mould and mildew cleaner.
• Remove traces of previous finish, rub down with a 120 grade sand paper, removing all traces of dust.

Application

Before applying the product test a small area on the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results. Colours may vary depending on the surface to be painted.

• Always apply in dry conditions.
• Stir product thoroughly before and during results.
• Apply with a brush or low pressure garden sprayer. Do no use a sprayer in widy conditions.
• Always follow the direction of the grain.
• Leave to dry for 12 hours or preferably overnight.
• Apply a second coat as previously. For softwoods 3 coats are recommended allowing 12 hours between each coat..
